Located in Osaka’s Higashisumiyoshi Ward, Nagai Park is a vast green space where sports facilities and nature coexist in harmony.
It’s a beloved urban oasis where joggers, runners, and people taking leisurely strolls gather to relax and enjoy the scenery.
While the park is beautiful throughout the year, this time I visited during autumn to enjoy its colorful fall foliage at a slow and peaceful pace.

Autumn Colors Along the Running Course
Nagai Park is famous for its 2.8 km running track, often called a “runner’s sanctuary.”
Since I visited on a Sunday morning, there were plenty of runners enjoying the crisp autumn air.

As you can see, the trees along the course are beautifully tinted with vibrant yellows and soft oranges.
It must feel amazing to jog surrounded by this scenery — even walking here was refreshing!
Autumn Leaves in Front of Yanmar Stadium Nagai

The trees around Yanmar Stadium Nagai, which sits along the course, were also glowing in warm autumn colors.
The stadium can hold up to 50,000 people, making it one of Osaka’s largest venues — comparable to Osaka Dome!
Forest Bathing in “Kyodo no Mori” (Local Forest)
While the trees around the running course are beautiful, the park also features an area called Kyodo no Mori, where you can experience authentic forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) in the heart of the city.
If you visit Nagai Park, this spot is a must!

Kyodo no Mori is located in the red box area on the map above.
Tall Trees Everywhere

The forest is filled with tall, dense trees.
When compared with the people and bicycles below, you can really see how high they grow.
It’s amazing how such rich greenery exists right in the middle of the city.
Walking Paths and Autumn Leaves

The walking trail is shaded by tall branches, and sunlight filtering through the leaves creates a magical atmosphere.
The mix of green, yellow, and red leaves gives the whole forest a beautiful gradient of colors.

This was my favorite shot — the sunlight hit just the red leaves, creating a truly enchanting view!
Adventure Park “Boken no Mori Nagai”

Inside Kyodo no Mori, there’s a facility called Boken no Mori Nagai, which offers a thrilling treetop adventure course.
The large course shown above costs ¥1,200 (¥1,500 during busy seasons).
Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
“Mizube no Sanpomichi” – The Waterside Promenade
Next to the northeast gate of Nagai Botanical Garden, you’ll find a free walking path called Mizube no Sanpomichi (“Waterside Promenade”).

The promenade is located within the red frame on the map above.

Although the botanical garden requires an admission fee, this path lets you enjoy the same pond views for free.

From here, you can even see the colorful autumn leaves around the pond.
It’s a lovely, quiet route — and completely free!
Crepe Café Inside Nagai Park

Near the southwest gate, there’s a stylish crepe café called Confiteria S.
I couldn’t read the name from the signboard at first — apparently, it’s pronounced “Konfiteria Ese.”
Pretty tricky even for locals! 😆
The shop is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., except during the New Year holidays.

They also offer takeout from noon, with all crepes priced under ¥1,000 — very reasonable!
After a relaxing stroll, treat yourself to a delicious crepe!
